Laura Marvin
Laura Marvin brings over twenty years of business experience to her consulting practice and focuses on helping organizations thrive by creating meaningful cultures, superb leaders and practical human capital practices. She lends credibility to her consultant role by drawing on her own executive leadership experience as well as her countless consulting engagements in a variety of industries, including high tech, gaming, retail, entertainment, medical and financial services. She is passionate about helping others succeed - from CEO’s to first time leads to her two highly-spirited boys.
Laura applies her expertise in four main areas:
Executive Coaching: Laura melds her business and psychology backgrounds to help leaders measurably improve their performance and personal effectiveness. She is especially adept at helping her clients increase their ability to lead in a way that brings out the best in themselves and in others.
Team Alignment and Development: Laura has mastered the art and science of accelerating team development to high performance. She has created a proven process that inspires engagement, collaboration and agreement on how to leverage the capabilities of all team members to meet and often exceed business objectives. She also applies these concepts to cross-functional and matrixed teams.
Organization Development Consulting: Laura puts her extensive OD background to use helping her clients diagnose issues, create solutions and guide implementation. Examples of projects include: executive/leadership competency development, talent management system design, scaling up from start up to midsize company; and employee engagement processes.
Facilitation: Laura applies her expert group process skills while facilitating highly valuable experiences including leadership development, strategy/business sessions, team building, and conflict interventions.
Background
Laura has a Master of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San Francisco State University where she also developed and taught the I/O Psychology undergraduate curriculum. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a Biological Sciences emphasis from University of California at Davis.
She holds several industry recognized certifications including, Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI); the FIRO-B; Personnel Decisions Inc. 360 Feedback Process, Development Dimensions International Targeted Selection and Facilitation Skills; Employment Learning Innovations Civil Treatment series; Blessing White, Inc. Laura is a California native currently living in Southern California with her husband, two boys, two dogs and one fat cat. When she is not helping others, she is playing tennis, reading, and enjoying her family and friends.
