Shannon McGhee

Shannon is an executive leadership coach, facilitator and HR consultant. Her passion is making the workplace and work product better through developing leaders who inspire and bring out the best in their teams. Her honest and insightful approach creates a powerful yet non-judgmental experience for her clients. Shannon is insightful, direct, results-oriented and is known for her friendly open style and sense of humor.

Her coaching process focuses on clearly identifying what practices and behaviors makes each leader successful as well as exploring what patterns the leader has that don’t serve them so well.

She works with her coaches to reinforce their strengths and overcome their reaction in more underdeveloped areas.  Typical areas of focus often include communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, trust building, engagement, cross-organizational influence and emotional intelligence.

Shannon brings 20 years of extensive experience working with leaders, at all levels, to move their business forward in a way that positively impacts people and business results. Areas of expertise include leadership development and coaching, classroom facilitation and organizational development. Other areas of specialty include planning and implementing strategic HR initiatives, employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation structure and leading remote teams.

Prior to EngagedLeadership, Shannon’s most recent in-house position was Head of Training & HR Compliance Programs for General Atomics. Working closely with the senior executive team, she strategically re-positioned organizational training across all affiliates; including design and implementation of leadership development programs, coaching programs and training infrastructure.

Prior to EngagedLeadership and General Atomics, Shannon supported the engineering recruiting efforts at Qualcomm.

Background

Shannon has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton as well as certificates in Human Resources Management and Compensation & Benefits from the University of California, San Diego.

In addition, Shannon holds several industry recognized certifications including Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DISC, Lominger’s Leadership Architect Competency Modeling, Development Dimensions International (DDI), Situational Leadership, ASTD Instructional Design, and SPHR.
